Lasting Legacy
To this day, Walter Elias Disney is still alive through his amusement parks, hotels, films, characters, studios, and countless more. Children still enjoy the spirit of Disney at home through his movies, his television channel, and his music. The brilliance of Disney’s classics still remain as some of the best animated movies of all time. Disney studios continue to create animated films such as Wreck It Ralph, Frozen, Planes, and all of the Disney Princess movies. They have managed to capture all types of audiences into their simplistic movies. With every new film Disney studios produces, each contains a touch of Walter Elias Disney’s magic. The most famous family amusement parks were created by Walt Disney. Disney World and Disney Land are the places where dreams are known to come true because it is the place where happiness had been created through the vision of Walt Disney himself. Disney created a massive family empire. He never got to see his dream of a second magic kingdom in Orlando, Florida because he passed away of lung cancer in 1966, at the age of 65. His dream parks then extended to cruise lines and international parks in Hong Kong, Paris, Tokyo, and many more places around the world. These theme parks take a person’s imagination through Walt Disney’s original vision of the animated world. His goal was to bring the animated world to life. He made things happen because he believed he could. His goal has most definitely followed through and is continuing to grow every single day. He always said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” The song “When You Wish Upon A Star” describes Walt’s personality so well and is the representative song for The Walt Disney Company. The coined lyrics “when you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are. Anything your heart desires, will come to you” is played in almost every Disney movie made now. Meaning, you don’t have to wish on a star to receive the things you want, you just have to believe and dream for them, then they will come to you with time. This was the motto Walt Disney lived by his entire life. Before Disney passed, he said “I hate to see downbeat pictures. I know life isn’t that way, and I don’t want anyone telling me it is.” Many of his fans agree, and their admiration for him made him one of the most popular and influential figures in postwar American culture.
